About Annie Locke - Evesham Piano Lessons
Annie has a degree from the Royal Academy of Music
where her principal studies were piano and oboe.
Her other musical qualifications include:
- LRAM diploma in piano teaching
- ARCM diploma in piano teaching
- Grade VIII silver medallist (second highest
mark in Britain of all instrument exams for that
- GCE A level Music with distinction
As a Composer
Annie has now written four albums of instrumental
music (see Annie Locke website,
where you can sample and buy her music). She released her fourth album, A Glimmer of Hope last year. This is an album of her own solo piano pieces. Samples of these can be found on this
She has given many solo concerts on both piano
and using multi-keyboards, and these include a solo
piano recital of her own music at Cheltenham Town
Hall, and more recently, at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall. Some of her concerts have included
on-the-spot improvisations - some of which became
the basis for pieces on her album 'Memories'.
She has also improvised musical portraits of
friends in their presence and these became pieces
on her album 'Portraits'.
For a number of years (16) Annie was
the resident pianist at the Three Ways
House Hotel in Mickleton, near Chipping Campden
(well-known for its Pudding Club of Great Britain),
where she played a variety of styles in the
restaurant, including her own compositions.
She is deeply interested in the effects of music
and sound on health and has
given talks, and broadcasts on radio, on the
